The Fib Unheard continues to address fibonacci's golden ratio in the Collapsed Linear Borders series (including Fibonacci's Skein, Unsubsiding Intricacies, and The Door: A Prelude) This piece consists of a system of wooden frame components that do not just mimic, but actually respond to fibonacci’s sequence through their dimensions. Only certain numbers from the 1:1:2:3:5:8 ratio are observed, and the addition of 7 foot long components serve as markers for the deliberate numerical disruption of this pattern. While the form of the sculpture questions the validity of mathematical rationale through sporadic dimensions, its material configuration carries significant conceptual weight.

As one of the oldest construction materials, wood serves as a recognizable symbol of stability. While it is steadfast, it is also relatively light and portable. Wood’s strength and reliability reflect the ways in which rationalization seeks understanding through comprehensive systems; but, the wood’s portable nature determines the infinite kinetic movement of the sculpture. By crafting a sturdy material into a mechanism of chaotic and disruptive components, The Fib Unheard exemplifies the navigation of a form, or body, that actively dismisses the organization of space through a single geometric order.
